Born in 1958, Major General Lund has over 34 years of military service and is the first woman ever to serve as Force Commander in a United Nations peacekeeping operation. ==Biography== Prior to this appointment of 12 May 2014 by United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Major General Lund served as the Head of Veteran Affairs for the Norwegian Defence Staff.
